About Robert J. Sehr
Bob has practiced law in Walnut Creek, California since 1977. Prior to that, he worked for several corporate legal entities and large law firms, of which one was a two hundred-plus attorney law firm in San Francisco.
Bob focuses in the following practice areas:

In his years of practice, Bob has represented an extensive list of clients in a variety of industries (See here for sample). When you meet Bob, you will discover that he takes great pride in personally getting to know you and your goals. For this reason, and because of his expertise, he represents most clients for decades and usually successive generations. He often becomes the trusted advisor for all of his client’s business, real estate, estate planning, and tax planning needs. Many clients develop a strong confidence in Bob and appoint him as the trustee or administrator of the client’s trust or estate to protect and administer the client’s assets after such client should pass away. The range of services Bob provides allows him to be a primary and trusted legal adviser to this clients.
Bob graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana with a B.A. in Economics. He received his law degree from Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut. At Yale, Bob focused on the tax and business areas of the law and wrote his dissertation on securities regulation, which was published in the law school and the bar publications, and later included in a textbook. While at Yale, Bob studied under and worked with Boris Bittker, who is a prominent authority and author in the field of tax law.

Bob’s professional activities include membership in the Mt. Diablo Estate Planning Council (former President), former associate membership in the Mt. Diablo Association of Life Underwriters, membership in the International Association for Financial Planning, and Membership on the Board of Directors for the Danny Foundation. Bob was formerly a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Eugene O’Neill Foundation – Tao House and a member of the Board of Directors for the Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging. He has served as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University where he taught Corporate Taxation and Financial Planning for Closely-Held Businesses and at John F. Kennedy University where he taught income taxation. Bob has also taught advanced Estate Planning for The American College of Financial Services.
Outside of Work
Bob enjoys his yearly summer trips to Ashland, Oregon’s Shakespeare Festival and loves traveling to the warmer parts of the world together with his wife Laura. In his spare time, Bob is an avid reader and historian on the origins of names and language.
